In 2021, ROOT ZERO launched with its Sustainable Spuds, the UK’s first carbon neutral potato. Its mission – to provide customers with British potatoes that taste great and have a positive impact on our planet. Focussing on sustainability within the full product lifecycle, their team works with growers to innovate on-farm, through wildlife, habitat and biodiversity initiatives, as well as pioneering in production and packaging methods. Both ROOT ZERO’s original Sustainable Spuds, and the more recently launched Baby Spuds, are sold in iconic bags that are 100% plastic-free, fully compostable and recyclable, whilst being great for maintaining product quality and shelf life.

Staying true to its carbon reduction commitment, ROOT ZERO products are ClimatePartner Certified, for minimising emissions where possible and offsetting any remaining, plus an extra 10%.
